Mitchel woke up early on a windy October morning. He wanted to roll over and fall back asleep, then he remembered the whole reason he woke up early in the first place. It was his first day of school. He had no idea what time it would start, so he decided the night before that he would wake up at five o-clock just in case. He was hoping that he would go with Jayden, so he wouldnt be late, or really early.
He rolled out of bed onto the floor, and then stood up. He was nervous jet excited. He had never been to a school before, but he had heard that it wasn't much fun in books. Some books said that school was the best place ever. He guessed that id depended how smart a person wos, and MItchel wasn't at all that smart. He had been studying though, so he wouldnt get made fun of. He knew how to read pretty well, and even though spelling wasn't his strong suit, he was pretty good at writing too.
Mitchel walked over to a small drawr where he kept his few clothes. It didn't take him long to find the perfect thing to wear. He quickly put on a plain, brown, button up shirt and black pants that had never been worn before. He looked over toward an old cracked mirror in the corner of his room and approved of his outfit choice.
He opened his bedroom door to a hallway that led to the bathroom. Hewashed his face in a tub of water that he had prepered the night before, and washed his hair with some things from the barber shop.He then brushed his teeth with some supplies from the General Store Once he was done with that he went back to his room to see himself in the cracked mirror. He smiled at his reflection and thought to himself, What's up, good lookin? Somthing was missing though, somthing just didnt look right.
Of course! It was his hair! Usually mitchel just woke up and didn't do anything to his hair in the morning. Of course he occasionally washed it, but he never brushed through it, unless you count ruffleing his hair with his fingers. He went back to the bathroom and found a black comb and brushed through his snarley hair. It was pretty painful for a bit, but after a while he couldn't even feel the comb going though his hair. He looked back in the mirror again and he barely recognised himself. He looked almost like a normal kid in london, not like a street rat. like he usually did.
He rished down the stairs and slipped his only shoes on, put his hat on hit head, and walked out the door. It was still dark, but the sun was rising. Mitchel hoped school didn't start at sunrise, or else he was skrewed. He walked up to Jaydens door and knocked loudly. "Hey Jay! I'm ready for school! Do you know what else I need?"
